Gymnastics training is not only for the girl or boy who wants to go to the Olympics. They may want to be on a team in high school or college. Some are there simply to have fun and we provide plenty of that. Any doctor will advise exercise as a way to maintain good health. When a child takes classes at Ambler PA Childrens Gymnastics healthy exercise and motor control are developed as they have fun.

A child can develop confidence as she learns basic somersaults and cartwheels on a tumbling mat. All will receive plenty of encouragement and attention as they progress and improve their abilities. We welcome every child from toddler to teen.

A student is enrolled into a class according to age and eventually according to ability. She learns foundational skills in vault, balance beam, floor exercise and uneven parallel bars. These are the four events that women compete in at the Olympics and local competitions.

Beginning girls and boys take sixty minute classes. Some of the girls are preparing for cheerleading tryouts when they get to high school. The goal may simply be to exercise and socialize in a class of the childs peers.

The longer sessions allow for more time to be spent on the equipment. Boys must develop their upper body strength to compete on still rings and even parallel bars. These are fast paced sessions with a professional instructor.

There are tumbling and trampoline classes. A special class can be arranged for a group of cheerleaders to learn back handsprings. The student serious about playing on any kind of sports team can benefit from strength training. Also, feeling in control of bodily movements is invaluable for soccer, football and baseball.

Cross country and track team members cannot avoid injuries unless they learn to stretch before each event. Endurance is tantamount to success for tennis matches and races. Gymnastics training will function to prepare the student for any sports competitions.
