When it comes to the nightlife no other city stands out more than NY, and it is around the lower two thirds of Manhattan where the good stuff are ordinarily found, which is much like other attractions. NYC has a nightlife that is really good, which occurs in places where there aren't a lot of hostels and hotels, but taxis are almost everywhere and beginning at 9 at night they can fly around town, so it is usually not a problem staying in one location and partying in another. When it comes to subways the danger involved is not that great, because subways also function the whole night and they're normally filled with a lot of people late at night.

Nightclubs in NYC

In different areas of town there are various nightclubs, but the western section of Chelsea on 27th Street and the blocks around it is where the main concentration of NYC nightspots are located. Downtown, primarily in and near Greenwich Village, are where nearly all of the places you would consider to be nightclubs. There are more than enough bars that often serve as small sized nightclubs located in the East Village, and plenty of places that are worthwhile right across the Williamsburg, Brooklyn's river.

It's almost everyday that the night club scene in the city of New York changes so the information above is not of much help. Places that are popular today, shut down just a few months later. Due to things like drug offenses even some of the stalwarts that have been operating for a long time have been experiencing some trouble as of late.

Lounges in NYC

The lounges around New York City can potentially stay open right up until 4 a.m. each morning, but plenty close between 1 and 2 a.m., at the very least on weeknights. Among the things that makes New York City nightlife so great are the small lounges located around the boroughs such Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. This makes it effortless to check out one location and if it is way too congested, too empty, or playing songs you detest, you can just leave and be in the subsequent place just a minute or two afterwards.

Nightlife Neighborhoods - Your Fast Guide

Hell's Kitchen - In the last decade or two this town with the scary name just west of Times Square has transformed nicely, and well-known New York City lounges and some bars are all over the place in 9th and 10th Avenues.

Chelsea - As mentioned previously, a great deal of the city's "mega-clubs" are situated in this area even though every week or so the lineup adjusts. There are a lot of very good lounges all around the remainder of the area - some brand new, and some really old. There are also gay bars situated in this area.

Greenwich Village - New York University dominates the middle area of this huge "village" area, which indicates there are a lot of bars normally packed with individuals that are just legal to drink alcoholic beverages. Bleeker Street is where are a lot of bars are located - a lot of them have comedy or live music - but these are sometimes jam packed with tunnel, tourists, and bridge types. In general, when you travel more to the east you will start to see more interesting parts of this area.

East Village - Specifically in the eastern section, also named Alphabet City, this is the finest drinking community around the city. As soon as you get east of 2nd Avenue there are a lot of bars. The subway is far from being the most conventional way to reach this area, but walking a few extra blocks is worth it. On each and every block Avenue A and Avenue B have lots of places, so it's possible to do a long pub hop in this area by just going a hundred yards or so.

Lower East Side - This place is thought to be a mini East Village, as it's a little neighborhood found south of Houston and East of 1st Avenue. The same wild vibe is what it has, but it's more trendy and more hipster oriented. Crowds of people can get wild on the weekends and there are a few live music bars in there as well.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn - During the past 10 years this area has transformed into a legitimate destination, and there are plenty of interesting places. Plenty of people leave from Manhattan to get their party on in Brooklyn, rather than the other way around.
