The charming city of Boca Raton Florida is one of the state's best kept secrets. It is a coastal city, with about 87,000 residents, and is not far from Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach. Some of its population, however, only work in the city, and the number of people present in the daytime is therefore greater. This city in Palm Beach county has a lot to offer both tourists and locals.

This very attractive city alongside the ocean has a fairly flat terrain, with only a few hills above sea level. The highest point is the guard shack at Camino Gardens, and the appropriately named High Street, or 4th Avenue, is another higher part. The city is lovely for tourists, and it offers safe neighborhoods for its residents. Some people feel only the rich can afford it, but there is plenty to do on a budget as well. The climate is warm, and the beaches are inviting.

For views of the Atlantic Ocean, you can select one of the waterfront restaurants. They all offer a variety of different foods. You can enjoy a steak, or even just a sandwich as you watch the waves. Lots of places also offer cheaper meals, such as Too Jay's or the Cannoli Kitchen, while further choices are considered as mid-range restaurants.

The restaurants that offer a fine dining experience include Ristorant Bova, with Italian cuisine, and New York Prime, offering top quality steaks, seafood, fine wine and other choices. The nightlife of the city cannot really be described as particularly lively, but there are a good selection of bars for locals and visitors. A few clubs exist for those who like dancing, and the New York Comedy Club has been frequented by some famous comedians such as Chelsea Lately and Flo Hernandez.

Visitors can shop till they drop at any of the city's large centers. Along Glades Road is the Town Center Mall, filled with high-end boutiques. Nearby, are also Mizner Park and Royal Palm Place, both with a selection of good stores selling all sorts of items. Quite a few private and public schools serve the children of the city, while the young adults can go to Palm Beach State College, Lynn University or another of the higher learning facilities.

A important part of the city is the Caldwell Theater Company, one of the oldest theaters in the surrounding area. Many fabulous performances are held here. Approximately four cinemas are available, but only one is considered as upper class, with luxurious chairs, pillows and a food order service. This is the iPic Theater.

Kids will also have a great time here, as there are parks galore for their entertainment. The Sugar Sands Park is great fun and the Coconut Cove Waterpark is very popular as wellt. Furthermore, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is free to enjoy, with several types of native wildlife. Art lovers may enjoy the city's Museum of Art.

Boca Raton lifestyle has much more to offer, both outdoors and indoors. Sports facilities are found at the parks, and mini golf, go karts and arcades are good fun too. Buses by Palm Tran offer transport in the city, but most people have their own vehicles.
