With the annual student group travel tour coming up, there is much excitement in the air at the local high school. Everyone is thrilled as this year it is a trip to a theme park, a trip to a movie set and the ice extravaganza followed by a scuba diving course. After that it is the trip home on the train.

Organizing such a trip takes a lot of negotiation and arranging. There are a number of people involved and each one has a job to do. When arranging such a trip one has to get the best prices you possibly can. One has to try to keep the costs of such a trip as low as possible so that everyone can take advantage of it.

Travelling needs to be taken into consideration as when travelling with many students you need to book out entire buses. This means that the bus company must have their payment upfront to secure their income for the day. Fortunately this type of booking means reduced rates.

Many companies are prepared to give group discounts if there are more than 20 people in the cluster. They will usually give you an area of space irrespective of if you fill it or not. They are also mostly insistent on upfront payments.

The trip to the theme park is different though and you only pay on the day you get there. Depending on how many people are in the group they too will give you a reduced rate. This though, depends on the age of the kids entering.

Touring the Hollywood movie set is done in tour vehicles, each of which can carry 20 people. If the individuals are under the age of 15 they get a discount. Other than that they have to pay full fees. This payment has to be booked and paid for in advance to ensure that the company has sold tickets for the entire bus.

When it comes to the ice extravaganza, the company insists on payment in advance. They will offer a discount on block bookings of more than 20 people. This way they do not have to concern themselves if the seat gets taken or not. This does not apply to front row places.

Booking for the scuba diving has to be done two months in advance and paid for in full. Only children under the age of 14 will get a small discount. Such companies feel that the older kids are more responsibility and therefore do not qualify for discount. You also have to place a multi booking for more than 20 people.

For student group travel trip home on the train, all fees have to be paid in full in advance. This ensures that the train company will have a place for each student to sleep and eat. Once again you will receive a special rate if you book for more than 20 people over the age of 15.
