Auto insurance rates are always on the rise in today's economy. Many people are unaware of the basic facts about auto insurance, allowing insurance agents to charge them for coverage they don't even need. Knowing what coverage is right for you and how much you should pay will save you money when purchasing Atlanta auto insurance.

Every state has a minimum amount of auto insurance required by law. The legal minimum Atlanta auto insurance is 25/50/25. This means that $25,000 of Bodily Liability Coverage per injured person is required, up to a limit of $50,000, and Property Damage Liability coverage has a minimum of $25,000. You can purchase more than this, but the law requires at least this minimum coverage. Some motorist ignore the required law and still drive without any insurance. You might want to consider Uninsured Motorist Coverage. You can purchase on the increment of $25,000 up to maximum of $500,000. The rate will depend on your coverage. This is not required by the law, but it is highly recommend, just to be safe.

All insurances have deductibles. It range from minimum of $50 to $1,250. The deductibles are amount you have to pay before the insurance takes affect. The lower the deductible, the higher the premium and vice versa. Take your financial situation into consideration, don't over stretch your finances by getting lower deductibles.

Roadside Assistance is a cheap and commonly chosen option that will cover towing, unlocking car doors, changing tires, and other basic auto help. Some new cars come with a warranty equivalent of this option. Be sure you aren't already covered before choosing this option. Another common and inexpensive option is Rental coverage. This will pay for a rental vehicle during the time you are without a vehicle after a wreck.

Make sure you get the best rates possible for your Atlanta Auto Insurance. Ask the agent for discounts or use the internet to find the best rates available, you can save hundreds of dollars.
