Abdelkader El Djezairi
Abdelkader ibn Muhieddine (6 September 1808 – 26 May 1883), (

عبد القادر ابن محيي الدين
ʿAbd al-Qādir ibn Muḥyiddīn), known as
Emīr ʿAbd al-Qādir or
ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jazāʾirī), was an
Algerian Islamic scholar,
Sufi, political and military leader who led a struggle against the
French colonial invasion in the mid-19th century, for which he is seen by some Algerians as the "modern
Jugurtha"
and a
national hero.
