The Algerian tourism on the rise. Algeria has attracted more than two million tourists in 2012, the figure is still low compared to its neighbors but has been a strong increase compared to 2011. An encouraging increase in the development of tourism in Algeria.
Tourists are more likely to be seduced by Algeria. In any case, last year they were nearly two million Algerians, of course, but also foreigners. They are at least 928,000 foreigners, mostly from Tunisia, France, Spain and Italy, who visited the Algerian cities, reports the National Tourist Office, at the 14th International Exhibition of Tourism and trips (SITEV), held in Algiers since Thursday. We are still far from the 10 million tourists who visit each year in Morocco, but the tourism sector in Algeria is clearly growing. Between 2011 and 2012, the number of tourists has increased by 10% and the number of foreigners is experiencing a rise of 8.91%.
Why such a change? According to the NTA, "the economic situation and investment supported by the government are all factors in the development of the tourism sector. "It is true that Algeria tries to put in place measures to increase the attractiveness of the country as the establishment of accommodation facilities, the organization of tourist routes, especially in the South, or the rehabilitation of heritage history. A total budget of 200 billion dinars was allocated to these projects. For its part, the Algerian National Tourist Office has also pledged to give "priority to domestic tourism, applying competitive prices to attract more tourists in Algeria." But will this be sufficient to compete with its neighbors, which always attract more tourists, including Algerians who prefer to go to Tunisia or Morocco, where tariffs and the proposed activities are more interesting?
