What You Need to Wear in Preparation for a Flight

You are so excited that it's fortified. After booking your cheap holidays to Malta 2013 and several weeks of preparation, you are now ready to undertake the vacation you have been waiting for so long. All that will be left for you to do is to pack your bags and depart to the airport.

Hold on tight! Look at yourself in the mirror before going outside. You have to ensure that you are sporting the right kind of clothing for your flight. Oh, that is so insignificant. But based on an Independent Traveller post, what your wear in-flight can in fact set the mood for your vacation. As an example, singing sensation Lady Gaga, had a bad in-flight experience recently. She wore very tight items during a long flight. While in-flight, she began to feel the discomforts of deep vein thrombosis, which is actually a life-threatening affliction. Sitting and not moving for long hours in cramped seats, low cabin pressure and dehydration are factors that bring the symptoms to life. Obviously, she was moody and sick as she went down from the aircraft.

Thus, when you take long-haul, cheap flights, it is necessary that you wear the right clothes.

1. Put on breathable, loose clothing.

Steer clear of skin-tight clothes. Remember that tight clothing can reduce blood flow. The feeling of confinement increases as you deal with long flight hours in the limited space of your airplane seat. Avoid discomfort and the start of deep vein thrombosis by wearing loose-fitting natural fiber clothes such as cotton T-shirts and linen blouses. They let your blood flow freely and lets your skin breathe effortless.

2. Wear comfy shoes.

Tight shoes, high heels, and stilettos are your feet's executioners during a long haul flight. How? Sitting in a cramped area for a number of hours in addition to the low cabin pressure, can result to enlarged feet. Too tight shoes can constrict the swelling, thus leading to chronic foot pain. It's better if you wear loose-fitting sneakers or boots. It's even better to take them off and change on flip-flops during the flight.

Freshly cleaned clothing is the perfect choice

Inside the confined space of an airplane, odors are amplified due to the stale air in the cabin. Thus, to avoid humiliating yourself make sure you wear freshly washed clothes. Also, take it a couple notches lower with your cologne. Your perfume can be sweltering in the small cabin spaces, if sprayed on by the bucket load. In fact, in an airplane ride, the best smell is no smell at all.

4. Layering

Taking a flight can take you to several zones of temperature. One time, you are sweating as you cross the sunny terminal to your plane. The next moment, you're freezing as the cabin crew lowers the temperature in the aircraft. Dressing in layers allows you to peel off (if it's uncomfortably warm) or put on (if it's uncomfortably cold) clothes. An added benefit is that the more clothing you are wearing, the less clothing stuff you need to put in your suitcase.

5. Dress properly

In 2005, Southwest Airlines flight attendants removed a passenger from a flight because she was wearing a T-shirt with a politically attacking print. A couple of years later, the same flight crew penalized another female passenger for wearing revealing clothes in a family-oriented airline. Lesson figured out? Don't wear clothing that is deemed offensive or unveiling. A relaxed pair of shorts, jeans, and shirt will work fine.
